Aside from anything else, those electrical components will look wrongly scaled (ie the wrong size/ out of proportion with the world) on the wall IMO. However, the hi-res version just has a bit of motherboard or something slapped in there. The techy part of the wall in the original has got a large (metallic?) structure to the left of centre and I've always thought that the exposed tech-stuff looks as much mechanical as electrical. Right on your front page I'd say there are examples of what I'm talking about - albeit not the best examples. I'm all for hi-resyness but replacement textures should (IMO) have the same basic atmosphere associated with it that the original does. I mean, they are just wrong in some detail like colour or basic appearance. One of the problems I (and other people have) is that many of the hi-res textures do not 'feel' like the originals.
